Unfortunately it does affect us in the outside world.  The US government
attempts to force its ideas on copyright law and patents on other countries
using all the arm-twisting means at its disposal.

By simply banning via court action the sale of any software in the US that 
does not comply with US legal decisions like "look and feel" the world's
software market is seriously distorted along US lines.
