I am researching learning software and hardware that teach people,
especially children, new skills. A large part of my work has been to
understand the factors that help the learning process, and the ones that
constrain it. I have developed a Virtual Reality exhibit here in
New Zealand, for a children's science centre, as a practical example
of my work. The system runs on a PC with a large screen projection display
and a PowerGlove (or mouse) input device.

I have some questions for the net:

Which software packages out there, do you think, are good teachers of
    real world skills for children?

What techniques are used in the program that makes it easier to learn?

Can computer aided learning give you real world skills?

Thanks,
