Denis Frith of Melbourne, Australia wrote: I have been trying to understand some of the many comments about the financial market and the measures being employed in an attempt to restore stability. Suddenly the reality hit me. I was astonished that I had been so taken in by the widespread controversy that I had forgotten the fundamental natural law that I had gone to so much trouble to define in ‘What went wrong? The misdirection of civilization’. I called it the Dependence on Nature Law because all the operations of civilization entail irreversibly using natural goods and services, some of which are natural capital (INMR) and some natural income (RNMR). What the natural goods and services are used for makes no difference to the principle that limited INMR is being used up at a high rate and it is now becoming scarce. Money has an influence on what the INMR is used for but, again, has absolutely no impact on the principle that it is becoming depleted. It has no more influence on that principle than technology or the inventiveness of humans. I wonder how long it will be before there is widespread understanding of that stark reality. It is ironical that the depression developing from this financial chaos will force many people to wake up to this reality as they attempt to power down. Denis Frith Acronyms used INMR - irreplaceable natural material resources – natural capital RNMR - replenishable natural material resources – natural income http://candobetter.wikispaces.com/Denis+Frith Link to latest version of ‘What went wrong? However, given that the vast majority have no ability to think of such matters: "The Whole", including all twits that thought that their sad sort could come up with a solution to the madness that curse their lives, are left to face a life of want and weariness as the lies they tried to believe and wanted, so badly, to believe, are stuck down, one by one; and they are left to suffer the costs and consequences as fools who dared not "ättempt" to "think". To a safer, saner and more caring world. To Duty. Daniel J. Lavigne, Founder International Humanity House http://www.taxrefusal.com ********************************** FREE ADS!! http://www.YNN.info
