 Fellow victims ;-< of BC's abrupt ;-< ;-< disallowing ;-< it's own
users from posting via anything but the select few graphical browsers
;-< may be somewhat relieved by email: send postings to
'news.group.name'@news.demon.co.uk (with the quoted string replaced by
the actual name) to get it automagically posted. This only works for
mainstream groups (unfortunately I couldn't find a way of determining,
short of actually sending a test post, which ones are available - but
I guess 'Big 7+1' are good bets), not for local ones like our bc.*;
but then we've never really been welcome here anyways ;-(... /Although
one can work around the distribution problem by crossposting with a
widely carried group such as misc.test - just remember that the latter
would generate several autoresponses unless one puts the word IGNORE in
the 'Subject:'!/
 There are also a few web-to-news gateways around (eg. at Dejanews) which could be utilized (a lot more reliably than the oft-disappearing open NNTP systems some people use). You can access these with lynx, even from text-mode terminals.
 Further, newer versions of Pine are supposed to do authentication as well.
