Hello, I'm a former sandy eggan, now living in Santa Barbara. We have a
group here called SCTA (basically a bunch of people pondering the concept
of a regional online community). At our next meeting (Wednesday), I've
volunteered to talk for a few minutes about the SD online community. A
few other people will cover different areas, including Blacksburg, which
has a very well developed telecommunity called BEV.

Since you're still reading, maybe you'd be willing to help me by letting
me know of any groups, organizations, or individuals who are working to
build such an online community for SD. I note that NOSC seems to have
the most comprehensive SD Web page, and SDCC now has an Internet SIG
which seems to work on instruction rather than collaboration among SD
ISPs and other net interests. Do you know of other groups with online
resources or efforts directed to community-wide info and resources?

If you have time, your comments on any or all of the following questions
would be helpful:

1. Is there a cohesive organization which is in communication with most
providers and online interests in the community? (if so, pointers
appreciated).

2. Are there any interesting collaborative projects, participated in by
several providers and online interests?

3. What's online which is of greatest interest to business, residents,
organizations, and/or governments of the region (that is, what's hot
online)?

Thanks in advance for any help or pointers you can offer. I can't
directly access sdnet newsgroups, so please reply via email to:
