We have several database CGI programs
that take data from a record and drop in into the
html within a textarea 'tag' with in a 'form'.

This allows the users to  see the current record
and make changes and then submit the
form back to the CGI making an edit to the database.

What happens is that Explorer will react to any
linefeeds inserted by the Netscape web browser.

It generally looks like adding extra lines to the resulted
html or it will look like one long run on sentence with no
 line breaks yet keeps the linefeeds and line return
characters in the text box which have the expect look of
two vertical lines e.g.    ||   .

Yet interesting if you look at the 'sorce' for the html, the source
responds as expected formatting the text correctly withou the
added lines  ||   .

The problem in this is that Netscape and other
web browser respond to this type of situation differently
so what appears normal in Netscape - in Explorer
it either looks like a run-on sentence with || lines
or it has too many lines add, e.g. double or tripled
space.
