Later on this week, I will be travelling to the DFW area for a job interview.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to be in the metroplex for more than a few
hours, so I won't be able to do much first-hand research on the area.

I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple of questions for me,
specifically:

1.  Roughly, what is the sales tax rate in the area?

2.  Are there any truly exceptional school districts in the area, or
    any that should be avoided at all costs?
    
3.  How expensive are auto registration/licence plate fees?

4.  Are there any good Thai restaraunts in/around Dallas?

5.  How much are area cable companies charging for "normal" subscriptions
    (broadcast channels, standard cable channels, but not HBO, etc.)?
