>Do you have any information where can I get companies that make >passenger seats for train ? I need the passenger seats for 1, 2, 3, & 4 >people WITH arm-rest AND made from fire retardant material. >If you have any phone#, address, name, etc. I would really appreciate it if >you would share that with me. I suggest that you might first want to contact any nearby RR or trolley museums. The local phone book or the annual "Steam Directory" would help here. If you are in the US or Canada, tell us where you are and I or someone else will point you to the nearest museum. These museums might have either something acceptable or contacts with someone who does. Other sources would be used RR equipment dealers or perhaps junk yards or mass transit companies. You might also try contacting the folks at Locomotive and Railway Preservation (or some other RR magazine) for pointers. I have seen ads for several of these companies from time to time. For historically sensitive restorations, most of the museum operations I know will try to duplicate one of the existing seats in some way. If the car in question has no remaining original seats, they will try to find an existing car of the same type, period, and builder and purchase (or otherwise duplicate) the seats from it. If neither of these approaches is an option, acceptable seats from some other similar period coach could possibly be substituted or duplicated. If after all this, you still find yourself stymied, occassionally an old coach seat will turn up at an antique shop. (EXPENSIVE- but sometimes you have to take what you can get). In a real pinch, I have even seen old bus seats utilized. Regards and good luck! Glenn
