If you're talking about the product with the trade name Demon Dialer -- they work well as long as you stick near the phone from which you originally tried to make the call. You have to leave this phone off the hook during the retry attempts. When the DD gets through it makes VERY loud beeping sounds in the handset until you hookflash to tell it to shut up. It also works if the number you call doesn't answer. It also provides a 200-number quick dial memory. In order to work with all the phones in the house, it has to be wired "between" the incoming phone line and all the phones in the house. It is not compatible with Cancel Call Waiting -- when you punch the # or * button to send the CCW command to the CO, the DD thinks you're giving it a command, and seizes the line. For that matter it isn't compatible with any other gadgets you might have that expect you to send * or # from your touch-tone pad. > 2) Where are they available and how much do they cost? As far as I can tell, they're no longer on the market. Haven't seen one advertised for years. > 3) Does anyone have one for sale? I have one. I suppose I could be persuaded to part with it but probably not for a price you'd consider reasonable. You can get the same function in auto-dialing programs in PCs and Macs. --- Jamie Hanrahan, Kernel Mode Systems, San Diego CA Internet: jeh@cmkrnl.com Uucp: uunet!cmkrnl!jeh CIS: 74140,2055
