Sorry about the huge newsgroups line. Anyways.

I'm looking for any equipment donations for a junior high school
in DC (Hine) that recently received an Internet leased line and
is in the process of converting older/different technology to
Internet-capable technology. (Notably Ethernet).

Hine is an 'enterprise' school and probably, as one of the first
schools in DC to join the Internet, will set an example to others
that may follow.

However the PCjuniors may not contain sufficient computing power
to, say, run any Mosaic servers or anything. ;)

Ethernet cards for IBMs (ISA and MCA), Macs, are particularly
welcome, as are equipment for a server (probably an pc 486)

Hine is willing to provide for all paperwork in making the donation
tax-deductible, etc.

Also, would anyone know anything about contacting corporations
for donations? (Let's get an SGI powerChallenge here :)

We are also looking for volunteers interested in helping out;
experience in networking, Novell, or navigating the Internet
would be great! The volunteer coordinator is Chris Berendes
<berendes@access.digex.net> I am just a random volunteer and
don't represent anything or anyone, except for my pet goldfish.

Some better, and more detailed, background is available at
ftp://ftp.digex.net/pub/access/berendes/hine-background.txt

Thanks in advance - we appreciate it!
