CricInfo Interactive Magazine (http://www.cricket.org/interactive/) is the
newest, most exciting, on-line cricket magazine on the Internet.

However: We need your help!

CricInfo Interactive Magazine is possible only with submissions from you.
We have no paid reporters working for this magazine, the contributions are
all voluntary submissions by people who do not make a living out of cricket
journalism. That's how we want it to be.

On the whole, contributions will be either original works or not widely
published previously; for example, they may be reprints of articles in
rec.sport.cricket on Usenet, or may have appeared in club newsletters or
the like. They can be opinion on the international scene, appreciations of
your favourite player or team, recollections of the past, reviews of the
last cricket book you read... just about anything related to cricket.

We want CricInfo Interactive Magazine to be a living anthology of cricket
writing, reporting and opinion. A contribution to the world culture of the
game. And, like the Internet itself, we want it to remain free.

"What can I write about?"
As long as you can be informative, imaginative, entertaining, or all three,
then you can write about anything you like dealing with the game of
cricket.

"That's too broad. Give me some clues."
Well, so far we've had:
* hard-hitting opinion pieces;
* appreciation pieces on retiring players;
* lampoons of current players;
* reviews of books and TV programs;
* historical features;
* short pieces of fiction with a cricketing theme.

What else can we do? There's so much - here's some examples:

* Preview a forthcoming Test or one-day series;
* Write about a domestic competition (eg the County Championship, Sheffield
Shield, Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, etc)
* Write about your favourite player, or about any player, past or present,
famous or infamous
* Give a match report on a game that you have attended (or maybe played in)

* Write about the progress of your favourite team (maybe you're a Natal
supporter, or you follow Karnataka or the Sinhalese Club or Otago - these
are just examples)
* Review an episode of a TV show (eg Gower's Cricket Monthly, The Cricket
Show)
* Tell us how the club you play for has been going this year.
* Draw a comic strip!

The possibilities are endless, just as long as the theme relates somehow to
our wonderful game of cricket.

"I'd like to be a part of this!"
I knew you would :-) If you think you'd like to be a contributor to
CricInfo Interactive Magazine, please email the editor at rick@cricket.org
and let him know what you are interested in writing about, and also what
sort of writing experience you have.

In summary: We're all here to enjoy the freedom of the Internet, to share
our love of the game of cricket, and to experience the cultural values of
the many different countries that we represent.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Rick Eyre,
Editor,
CricInfo Interactive Magazine.
