"The Garret," The Enclave Writers' Network and Support Group
forum, is a moderated Internet mailing list for the posting of
articles announcing writing contacts and opportunities, group
meetings, events, etc., for writers in the San Francisco and
Monterey Bay Areas. All types and genres of writing are
acceptable as the subject of posts, but purely commercial
announcements are discouraged. Articles announcing writers'
seminars and events are acceptable.

To subscribe to the list, send e-mail to:

	server@nocturne.boulder-creek.ca.us

In the message body include the following list server command:

	JOIN GARRET

A digest of the posted articles and announcements is mailed to
all subscribers once per week.

There is also a writers' group login specifically for posting
to "The Garret" forum. Alert the media; tell your fiends, er, friends.

	   Login: garret
	password: writer

Users at other sites may also post local writers' meetings and
events -- without subscribing to the mailing list -- by sending
e-mail announcements to:

	garret@nocturne.boulder-creek.ca.us

		- or -

	garret@nocturne.sbay.org

Writers' group meetings and events may also be included in the
weekly "The Garret" digest by sending a plain-text file (ASCII)
on a DOS- or Mac-compatible diskette (5.25" or 3.5") to:

	"The Garret"
	P.O. Box 1511
	Boulder Creek, CA 95006-1511

If you want your diskette returned, please include an SASE.

Note: Postings should be relevant to writers in the San Francisco
Bay Area and the Monterey Bay Area (i.e., San Francisco, San Jose,
Santa Cruz, Monterey, etc.). Additionally, "The Garret" is not an
appropriate venue for posting fiction for on-line critiques.

Please proof and edit all articles and announcements prior to
posting them to "The Garret."

-- Dean, List Admin

NOTE: That's "Garret" as in a an artist's or writer's loft, a
retreat to escape to for work, for creating art -- *not* "Garrett"
with two Ts, as in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid!
