________________________________________________________________________ Sangam & Indian Pogressive Study Group, Boston present INDIA 50 YEARS AFTER : WHICH WAY FORWARD The 7th Annual AIPSG Conference When : 1 - 6 pm, Saturday November 15 Where : MIT, Room 2-105 Fifty years after gaining formal independence and forty eight years after adopting the Constitution, India is getting increasingly enmeshed in an economic, social and political crisis that is accentuated by the growing rejection of the status-quo by the people. Years of marginalization of the country internationally and of its people, both inside and outside India, has given rise to a situation where more and more people are ready to embark upon a new course. There is a desire among the people of Indian origin living abroad to assert their national identities and affirm their rights in the societies they live in, so that they are not relegated to the margins of any society. This conference is being organised by Sangam-MIT and IPSG-Boston to bring together students and others engaged in, or interested in developing work that can contribute to the solution of the myriad problems facing Indians in India and abroad.
