good morning all-

rare, greater-than-24hours-notice: the e-club shall host
a meet-the-author event with alumna TERESA ESSER '95,
at this coming tuesday's weekly meeting, 26 feb, at 6pm,
over at our usual meeting place, mit lecture hall 56-114 ...

teresa shall bring along for inspection, purchase and
her autograph, copies of her just released new book on
tech start-ups: THE VENTURE CAFE: Secrets, Strategies,
and Stories from America's High-Tech Entrepreneurs ...

join us to hear and meet teresa and be inspired by another
hard-tooling alum of the institute, and e-club regular,
who has had a good idea and hacked on that idea with constant
effort and perseverence, and produced tangible output!

give her a warm and critical turnout in the spirit of
e-club interactive real-time reviews ;)

reviewers! take note!
speaking of the review process, e-club regulars and alum
and seminar students and alum readers interested in reviewing
THE VENTURE CAFE for _the tech_ and or other campus papers
or journals, hard-copy or online, or other appropriate outlets,
well-known or less-so, should be in touch with teresa
at <teresa@alum> for your own review copy and agreement details;
i believe this offer extends only to 20 (twenty) potential
reviewers, so be quick and commited, and be there on tuesday!

congratulations teresa!

micro-rave by rds- this latest work by teresa esser is
extremely inspiring, very readable; is immediately useful
and tells the stories of several recent and ongoing tech
start-up cases. a significantly more humane treatment of
struggling thinkers, engineers, managers and end-users than
any work by rob ryan and many other well known authors ...

from the back cover-
takes you inside the minds of technology entrepreneurs ...
   - guy kawasaki, ceo, garage technology ventures

eureka! esser has found it - the essence of high-tech venturing -
and delivered it in a great, empowering book ... reveals
in detail the angst and exuberance of the entrepreneurial mind ...
must reading (and re-reading) ...
   - paul bottino, exec dir, tech & e-ship center, harvard

with great stories and wise advice, teresa esser walks readers
through the thicket of starting a company. if you're a fledgling
high-tech entrepreneur, you'd do well to have a copy
of this book.
   - damiel pink, author of _free agent nation_

demystifies the venture capital industry and the entrepreneurial mind.
   - howard anderson, co-founder, battery venture capital, and
founding partner & senior managing director, yankeetech ventures

great conversation, big ideas to 'change the world,' tips on how
to make it happen ... truly fun to read and most valuable for any
tech-oriented entrepreneur.
   - stan davis, author of _lessons from the future_ and
     co-author of _blur_
