UUM1 fall down go boom.

Hi, folks.

We have recently experienced a crash of the MN.Org Internet gateway, uum1.mn.org
which has delayed mail this past weekend. None was lost, to my knowledge,
as it all sat queued on tcnet until uum1 was rebooted Monday morning. Uum1
just experienced another crash/reboot just now (noon on Monday), but is back
up now.

We are looking into this, of course. I just wanted to let you know of the
situation.

When uum1 goes down for a long time, mail still gets to mn.org via our good
friends at poincare at the U. For short outages, the hosts on the Internet
just wait and try again. Not to worry, as they say.

Note that this is not at all related to the spate of "late" mail that some
folks received last week, dated some time in November. That was from another
MN.Org site that had been down a while, or at least not connecting to tcnet.

Thank you for your attention. Now back to our regularly scheduled chaos.
