Canada has never been a tourist bargain except to Europeans.

With converting the gas and dollar rate to the dollars per litre in
Canada the cost currently is 25 cents more per litre than the USA. 
Considering we have higher taxes and higher wages at the lower end, and
only a population of 35 mllion as opposed 600 million in the USA, I
would say Canada gas prices are a steal.  

Buy a book in Canada, for example is usually 1/3 or close to double what
the book sells for in the USA.
