The world has finite resources. Already Japan, America and many other countries are in a decline due to having to import most of their raw materials to turn into goods. This is a population problem. The more consumers means more goods means more raw materials means having to spend more and more money for ever decreasing amounts of material that are ever increasing in price as they get scarcer. This in turn leads to higher cost per units which leads to a lower standard of living, and when you increase the population you have to spread out the goods and services in a decreasing economy and increasing prices amongst increasing amount of people. This basically means the slices of pie keep getting smaller and smaller. China is scary to me only in the respect that they are a tightly controlled dictatorship that can effectively manage their massive population growth, and they have. A stable population means a wonderful economy, and increasing riches for every inhabitant if managed correctly. Mexico and Brazil are perfect examples of what increasing population growth does to a county. If Mexico couldn't ship 20 million of it's overabundance of citizens to the USA so we would feed, care, clothe them and provide medical care and retirement funds to them, Mexico would be in flames right now. Brazil is going to start having wars with Argentina and Venezuela as they rapidly cut down the last remaining forests in the Amazon and then have to expand to neighboring countries in about the year 2010 I believe. Brazil and Argentina both have the bomb too and so having a 100 million man army means nothing when one airburst will do the trick. Nuclear weapons are the new "equalizer" that Sam Colt envisioned for women and little guys who bought his repeater. Just look at Indonesia, India, and many other countries with lots of natural resources but way too many people. A few get filthy rich exploiting these resources because they know that sharing a gazillion dollars in assets amongst 1 billion people just means a billion people will be a little less poorer than yesterday. The most stable and richest countries in the world are the ones who limit immigration and have a stable population with little or no growth. Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Costa Rica, Barbados, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and others. Many of these places even white, healthy, well-off young Americans with skills can't even emigrate to. They won't let them. They're smart. These countries have a stable economy, some of the best health care in the world, the lowest crime, the best infrastructure, stable governments, and more. You've fallen into the siren trap of the multination, who are really mega corps who only see the bottom line, in the idea that immigration and increased population is a good thing. The contray is is true. More people = less wages = declining standard of living. Hell, even in the USA we've slipped so far in our standard of living in the last 30 years that it's only incredible to people who are actually old enough to remember a 20% tax rate, a 2% sales tax, no toll roads, where a man could work one job and the women stayed at home and he had a nice vacation once a year and had the best medical care in the world, and saved money and had real retirement funds when he retired. Along with that we've had the biggest massive immigration since the Irish invasion in the early 20th century. Trouble is, we had plenty of jobs and plenty of room then. We do not now. Just take a look at a satellite nighttime photo of the world. You'll see. mapi
