Bad news for snow lovers. After teasing us for four days with a northern plains blizzard, the models are breaking down the storm. Whereas before they had a plains storm sucking in a gulf system loaded with moisture, now it shows the Gulf system being the predominate, and basically going up the Ohio River valley. It should be mostly a rain event, with some gloppy wet stuff from Iowa to Wisconsin. http://www-pcmdi.llnl.gov/fiorino/wxmap/ngp/archive/98021500/ngp.alltau.prp.conus.htm Crumb... Screwed again. (Like usual.) It'd be nice if just *once* those models would verify at long range.
