Actually< i think this term was used in a publication many years ago by a
forecaster in Milwaukee.  He classified winter storms that affected Wisconsin as
Alberta Clippers or Panhandle Hookers; those storms that developed southeast from
east Colorado and hooked northeast from the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle toward
the Great Lakes.
