LaserWriter printing first page only

Our LaserWriter Plus (connected to a VAX) has suddenly started printing
only the first page of PostScript files sent to it.  The second and
succeeding pages never appear. Turning it off and on doesn't help. We're
novices at debugging this situation - does anyone have ideas about
things we should check?
