Subject: Question: Handling very large integer values from Fortran
To: info-vax@sri-kl.arpa
X-Original-To: info-vax@sri-kl.arpa, JWR8728
One of our users has a need for performing integer arithmetic on
very large numbers (on the order of 2 ** 300). Specifically, he needs
functions to add, subract, and compare two numbers of this magnitude, as
well as test individual bits in the result.
Does anyone know of or perhaps already written a routine to simulate such
a situation? We have a VAX running VMS 4.5. The application is written in
VAX Fortran 4.6.1.
Thank you,
