AIX and MACH questions

While learning about the IBM RT we inherited, I found that AIX supports
pinned pages via an OS system call. The system call didn't say the call
was restricted though (no limit on the number of pages you could pin).
What do they do if you try to pin, say, as many pages as system memory
will hold? Or is there a capability the calling program must have to use
the call?

On another matter, I'm trying to find some information on the MACH CMU
project. Any pointers to literature would be appreciated.
