There were a couple of articles in MacWorld (not the Australian version)
about June or July I think, about this problem. There are a bunch of known
conflicts with 7.5.1 and other stuff, most of which seemed really obscure.
However, Norton Partition was a BIG one...and it's not being upgraded, or
supported anymore, so it just has to go. Another suggestion was to update
your hard disk driver (there should be an "update" button in whatever
formatting s/ware you use). I use FWB Toolkit, and it's really simple to
update the driver. However a friend, who has the same lock-up problem on a
centris, uses "Drive 7", and it won't let you update the driver on your
boot disk. We then booted from a floppy, and it won't let you update the
driver on the disk that "Drive 7" is on...damn stupid heap of crap...

Anyway, the next thing I did was to delete his Norton Partition extension
(I actually don't even know what it does...bit silly, but hell, it's not
my computer :)). Anyway, that fixed the lock-up problem, and didn't seem
to create any new ones.

Hope this helps
