Subtle history handling difference between FF3 and FF2?

This is a very, VERY narrow question; but I'll throw it out here in hopes that someone can answer it. I have access to the monster.com resume database. In Firefox 2, or in Internet Explorer 6, when I have a list of resumes in monster, then click on a link to view a resume in detail, the link immediately turns purple (to indicate it's been visited), and a purple gif with the word "visited" appears by the link. I recently upgraded to Firefox 3 and cannot get either to happen (that is, the link does not change color, and no "visited" gif appears by links I've visited). Same thing in IE 7, which isn't my primary browser. I've had friends who have FF2 or IE6 try this and they still get the purple links and the purple gifs. EXCEPT in monster, every visited page link displays as expected, generally turning a different color. I have no malware on my computers (I've tried this on multiple computers, using different internet providers), and there is nothing else odd about my computers and their browsers. I doubt too many people reading this use the monster resume database, but I am hoping that someone can explain to me some subtle difference between the FF3/2 browsers and IE7/6 browsers that would explain this. My cookie settings in FF3 are what they were in FF2; I can't think of any cookie/password/anything setting that would explain this difference. Ideas?
