I debated posting today, since I've publicly said we don't remember those
murdered enough.  But since the murderer had not been seen in the newsgroups
for some months, I thought the talk I'd seen some months ago about limiting
or restricting such postings (yes, I know the murderer isn't really here
but the talk seemed to deal with that) had come to pass, I figured maybe
it was best to not saying anything.  

Or perhaps the absence of messages had meant the kid had come to his
senses, and defied his father.  I still think he is bullied by his father
to do this.  Unless there was an older child, the kid is around twenty by
now, most of that time, his father has been in jail for killing people.

I am sorry I did not post, because I'd much rather have the murdered
remembered than the murderer.

There is a plaque in the Hall Building remembering the murdered, and if
the exact date had not slipped my mind (I was reminded because they mentioned
the date on the radio) I might have left something to mark the day.

Here's something I posted five years ago  (the Con-U Golf Tournament,
which I think is a fundraiser for the scholarship in the names of the
murderers, was August 11th this year):

The lunatic posts today, or has someone post for him, because it was on
this day in 1992 that the lunatic killed those innocent people.

The innocent people were:
    Matthew Douglass
    Michael Hogben
    Jaan Saber
    Phoivos Ziogas

I just spent some time finding this.  Sadly, it's not easy to find on the
internet.

There's a Concordia University Memorial Endowment Fund to remember them
by, which provides for four (4) annual entrance scholarships.

Oddly, I found one name, in reference to the event, and then found a
reference to the memorial fund.  I was fairly certain at that point that
they must have been the ones murdered, but wasn't certain.  I did searches
on their names, and couldn't find anything.  Then a search of newsgroups
at dejanews, showed there names together.  Sadly, it was in the lunatic's
post.  That was the last place I'd look, since there's no point in reading
the lunatic posts.

Michael Hogben was apparently a chemistry professor.  I couldn't find
details of the others, though they were all professors.

The lunatic also wounded a departmental secretary and took a
professor and security guard hostage.

Technically, the lunatic posts might qualify as spam, since the lunatic
is posting the same sequence of messages to a number of newsgroups, one at
a time.  And though I haven't read them (who wants to?), the lunatic would
appear to be posting the same thing every so often.  Perhaps the lunatic
qualifies for cancel messages.

Or we could make a point of contacting dejanews, http://www.deja.com and
pointing out that the lunatic might be spamming.

I remember the day 7 years ago.  I was with a friend who was 8 at the time
(ironically, I was with her on that day in December of 1989 when the
students were killed), and I was walking her home, and we spied some
computer junk (Apple II vintage) and hauled it home.  And then the
murders were on the radio.
