The MBTA publishes schedules for all their bus lines. Many of these are
available at some of the larger MBTA terminals (Like the Park St.
misinformation boot, Forest Hills, etc. Also all busses are supposed to
carry copies of their route schedules. I have also found that the MBTA
employees who answer the info lines are reasonably helpful with
schedules. The problem is that sometimes the driver may not be too
familiar with his/her route, and one may get taken for an nteresting
sight seeing tour :-)
