He has as much right to them as any other citizen. Plus, he also has executive privilege which no other person has. He, and obviously you, think it should be more sweeping than it is. That doesn't mean he lost it. It means that he thought more than the law allowed. > He has gained the right to be smothered by private lawsuits while in > office. Smothered???? Do you really believe these histrionics? He had exactly ONE laswuit filed against him while he was president. Reagen and Carter also dealt with lawsuits while they were president. The courts have the right to rule on the Constitutionality of an action. The Supreme Court has ruled that Presidential Immunity does not extend to civil suits. > How many important bills has the President passed since 1993? Its close > to a very round number. If you feel he is too incompetent to get any legislation passed, why are you so concerned about keeping him as president? > > He is still in > > charge of the executive branch and he can still veto bills. As are sexual > harrassment charges. Congress has taken this power away from the courts. If you are going to holler about Congress 'stealing' constitutional power from the court and the executive branch, you might want to read it first. The sexual harassment suit was being handled in the courts. Congress had no control or influence over it. When Starr submitted hir report to Congress which contained allegations of impeachable offenses, Congress, and only Congress, has the constitutional authority to initiate impeachment hearings. You sound like you are pissed because Clinton is only a President instead of a monarch. -- And I feel like picking a fight, with everyone who thinks they are right. All the preacher men, the politicians, all the critics, and the things they write. -Rainmakers-
