BCS GENERAL MEETING -- Wednesday April 22, 1992 7:30 PM Two hundred years ago, the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights began a debate about the nature of free speech and related issues that has continued to this day. The appearence of electronic bulletin boards has raised a whole new set of concerns about what is or what is not protected by the First Amendment. Most BCS members make use of private, public, or commercial bulletin boards and should be aware of their rights and obligations under the First Amendment. The BCS General Meeting features a panel of people who think a lot about these kinds of issues. Mike Godwin of the Cambridge-based Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) moderates the discussion. We hope you attend this important meeting that affects the lives of every one of us. Location: New England Life Hall, 225 Clarendon Street, Boston, Massachusetts. Directions: Between Newbury and Boylston Streets. Parking is available at the Kinney garage with a discounted evening rate of $5.00 if you bring your parking ticket and have it validated. -- Edward P. Piecewicz Internet: edwardp@cs.umb.edu Opinions expressed are my own and not those of UMass/Boston.
