	Dynamics of Small Spherical Particles

		S. K. Loyalka
		University of Missouri-Columbia

The dynamics of small particles (0.001 to 10 micron diameter) in
gaseous environments is of interest in atmospheric sciences, air
pollution control, nuclear reactor safety, astrophysics and materials
manufacturing. We will discuss some recent progress in the theoretical
description (computation) of the drag and thermophoresis on small
spherical particles, and compare the former, for example, with the
experimental data of Millikan.
