MANUFACTURING SOLUTIONS WORKSHOP: A Vision for the 21st Century

                          March 8, 9, 10, 1993

Deerfield Beach Resort, Deerfield Beach, FL

                             sponsored by
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Digital Equipment Corporation

An exciting workshop that describes the tools and methods to design,
build and implement affordable, effective computer-based production systems
that work. It will be presented by Rensselaer and Digital. It will cover
how your company leadership can tie BUSINESS GOALS to PEOPLE through
TEAM BUILDING and the CREATION of TECHNOLOGY in order to improve operations
and profitability. You will also learn why these approaches are
important for your current and future manufacturing competitiveness.

The intensive two-day seminar has been developed by the authors of
"PRODUCTION SOFTWARE THAT WORKS - A Guide to the Concurrent Development of
Real-time Manufacturing Systems", in conjunction with Dr. Robert Graves,
Professor of Decision Sciences and Engineering Systems at Rensselaer.
The workshop will cover proven technologies, effective tools, project strategy
and management, and related issues that spell the difference between successful
production system implementation and failure on the factory floor. The
solutions work because they are focused on the "Business Problem," the
people, and then the technology.

Attendees of the workshop will learn how to organize and manage
successful projects, how to structure software development, and how to ensure
that what they really need is what they get from the project effort. Material
from case studies will provide practical guidance.

			WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This workshop is designed for senior manufacturing executives,
manufacturing managers, and professionals involved in CIM management,
production process engineering, Total Quality Management, design for
assembly/manufacturing, as well as others who are primarily responsible for
enhancing corporate profits. The Workshop is not designed just for people
that write software.
