Yes there are men out there how acualy beleave in womens rights...
(even if I do rarely spell it corectly)
and there are a lot of wemen who are acualy agenst those same rights....

I've heard people rationalising why people think the way they do...
Except for psycologests the rational is usualy wrong... and even psycologests
are wrong from time to time... But they are trained in the field and at least
know enough to make corections and realise the potental for mistakes...
The rest of us do not have the tools to test our ideas....

anyway... 

I (personaly) think it's a dangerouse presumption to deside that all
men are agenst womens rights... I can't beleave there is any real
foundation for it...  Just a lame atempt to turn the tables agenst
people who could quite posably be your allies....

I have yet to meet a female engineer who wasn't many times better than
her peers. I have yet to meet a female manager... so I can make any kind of
fantastic statments regarding the kind of manager I never meet...
I have never meet a female manager who couldn't fly like the flying nun...
for example... so I'll spare you the manager analagy...
But I have meet female engineers...

Of female system operators (Hobbyests not profesionals) it is my experence
Female run BBSes kick ass over male run BBSes...

From the time I was a Sysop to the time I left the BBS world for the Internet
Here are the BBSes in my area that were considered the best by users..
(I conducted regular survays)
Wizards Clan(Changed it's name to Blue Illand Fantacy... bif.com last I 
heard) Run by a female sysop (and a team of CoSysops... her only skill
managment.. everyone else had computer skills... a 100% volintear effert)
The Catch of the Dragon.. Run by a female sysop and a few female CoSysops
her skills were all tecnical and had no managment skills...

The Temple of the Screeming Electron, Run by a male sysop...
Largest text file base at the time. Was the top BBS intell the two ladys
above showed up...

Party Warehouse, Male sysop (BIF.COMs nemisis.. The sysop of BIF picked
a fight with the Sysop of PW as he was the internet expert and one
of BIFs tecs has a jelously problem... Lori trusted that tec to much...
In the out come the sysop of PW parlayed this rivalry into his own little
fame... eventualy PWs own undoing)

Silicon Knights, Male sysop. Friend of the Sysop of BIF and a personal
friend. Got some noterity when I left BIF (as a programmer becouse of the
tec I refered to before.. I turned out to be a better programmer)
and signed on SK as a user (not a programmer).
His skills are tecnical and mangerial in nature. His wife also helped him
out a lot when he had major back surgury and ended up stuck in bed for
a few months.

The Asylum, Male sysop, me. My only skill... programming...
Managing the BBS was not a skill I ever realy mastered.
This put me at the bottom of the bunch.
I eventualy shut down... The Sysop of BIF asked me to help her out with
the programming and I agreed I eventualy became in charg of programming
for BIF. The hardware person was jellouse and eventualy I resigned
from the position becouse of some iner BBS polotics. Not to much later
the tecnition was asked to leave. And a few months ago I was asked to
come back but by then I knew there were more qualifyed people avalable
and I just wasn't intrested in CoSysoping...
I left BIF signed on Silicon Knights as a user and from Silicon Knights
became intrested in the Internet. From there I signed on a full Internet
provider and here I am today....

This boring histroy of the BBS world in my home town points out something...
A woman Sysop can be such an influence on the local BBS comunity that
everything almost revolvs around her... If she'd ever take the time
to notice her BBS would fall apart...  I became famouse for a while
as the person who did all those nifty features on BIF.. but most of those
where her ideas and the rest was me or other users folowing her lead.
I wouldn't have been known for them had I done the same on my old BBS...

It takes a good manager and she happends to be such... even if she is
just a Sysop. She runs her BBS like a busness... In the end she even had
a busness name when she last contacted me...
