I've noticed, in travelling to other parts of the country, that people are much friendlier in public places than they are in New England. The contrast is especially noticeable in clubs. In places like Atlanta or VA, if I go into a bar by myself, both men and women who notice that I am by myself will strike up a conversation with me. In other places, like Dallas, people welcome a conversation, but aren't as likely to take the initiative with a stranger (at least, not me). Here in New England, it seems that people really make me work for every inch in the getting-to-know-you game. Have those who travel noticed this difference? If you did, in what ways have you brought what you learned in those other places back to New England? -- ----- Andrew John Harrington | nin15b63@merrimack.edu Merrimack College, North Andover, MA | I'm too sexy for this network.
