Well, as I said, decent cars and living quarters are superficial
indications. I guess the under-lying maturity I'm looking for is someone
who takes care of himself, doesn't manipulate or use people, takes
responsiblity for his actions and well-being, and is sensitive to other
people.
A man with a fucked-up credit history may be irrisponsible...just how I'd
figure that out before finding that out for myself, I don't know.
A man with a tidy and clean apartment is responsible and, well, tidy and
clean. (Those "bachelor pads" with scum and dirty laundry all around
aren't too nice!)
A man with a child who he cares about and spends time with and helps
support is a nice thing...even if that means he did make some big mistake
earlier, I find that men who have children and are involved in their
upbringing can be really wonderful.
Men with careers rather than jobs - that's a big one for me - know what
they want in their life and have succeeded in achieving something.

There are a lot of parralell things that go for women. Women who only want
a man to take care of them must be annoying. Women who do all the
irrisponsible things I just said about men must be annoying.

I'm in the middle of finals and not making a lot of sense, sorry.
