I'm not much good at speaches and the like and right about now I wish I had save the poem that others had posted. Well this I hope will get the new shuttle discussion group running.

HIGH FLIGHT
by John Gillespie Magee, Jr.
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds--and done a thousand things
You have not dreamed of--wheeled and soared and sung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

I have doubts about the SRB's flying as straight as they did after the explosion, if one of them had a "leak". All I'm going on is the video shown on the commercial stations, so if anyone has more information that refutes this, please speak up. There was report in the paper this morning that there was some indication of this in the telemetry, but it's not clear where that information came from.
