I'm the one who's "supposed" to be doing this, but I haven't had a
chance to look at it (maybe sometime this week).  The compile errors
are caused by the broken rt compiler; simplifying the expressions
fixes the problem.

The dumping core bit sounds bad.  That might take some time to track
down.
