DisplayTextView example1 bug?

Why can't you type into the text view created with DisplayTextView example1?
It accepts typing, does selection, and so forth, but gets the bounding box
for the text completely wrong, never displaying more than one line even if
its window is the full size of the screen.

As an example, it isn't too useful.
