     My Atari 800 (about 9 months old)  has  a  problem  which  I
don't  recall noticing when I first brought it home.  On the left
side of the TV screen there are light vertical  bars  about  1/4"
wide.   They're there no matter what is or isn't connected to the
computer.  I also get slanted lines migrating across  the  entire
screen.   They  seem  to respond to my jiggling the power cord or
changing its position, but they don't go  away.
