1M on a 520-ST

Atari has made no special effort to prevent someone from upgrading
a 520-ST to 1Mbyte. I think that some early memory controllers had
some problems with drive capability for a second bank of RAM chips,
but none of those controllers made it into production machines.

I have heard horror stories about companies doing 520-ST upgrades to
1Mbyte (one developer said his machine came back with only 2 of the
6 OS PROMs, and that the machine had been busted in other, more
subtle ways.) BE CAREFUL! Go to someone reputable; make sure that
you know that they know what they are doing ....

Atari should be on usenet presently, within two weeks, tops. When
we are finally and solidly up, I'll let you know.
