Broken ATARI 810 disk drive

On behalf of a friend:

We have a broken ATARI 810 disk drive. I am looking for help on either of
the following

1. Can I get the mechanical and electrical drawings for the ATARI 810
    somewhere?

2. Can someone suggest a fix to the actual problem?

The drive, when powered on, starts spinning the diskette, but does not load
the heads. Further, the drive does not stop spinning.

Does anyone know of this problem and a fix, or can point me to someone
who would know? Our local ATARI service center closed I hear
(Central New Jersey) and we do not know where to go. If we at least had
documentation, we could trouble shoot it since we have no shortage
of engineers here.

Thanks
