I know that killing the pterodactyl in Atari's version of Joust for home computers is no easy task. You have to try to spear it in the mouth. However my brother, and I have discovered that you can kill it by flying into it from the rear, pretending the tail is the mouth. I have not perfected it yet, but I think that if you do not flap when you hit it, then you will kill it, otherwise you die. If anyone else has any new ideas, please post to the net. Thanks. .....desh sharma (Univ. of Waterloo)

It's all a matter of timing. Trying to kill the Pter. while it's charging/screeching is impossible but just before and after is easy. You must stick your lance EXACTLY in the center of its mouth or between the tail and feet (basically in the same horizontal plane). The top of the screen is the best place to wait for it and fly backwards slowly (reverse direction between flaps and keep the joystick straight after that) until you get the hang of it. Expert level forever... Phil
