Follow-up comment (I forgot to include it in previous message):

May I remind you also that Atari is said to be about to announce an 80-column
hardware upgrade to the 8-bit machines.  This may have some advantages over
the currently-available software approaches such as those used in VT10SQ and
OmniView.
