I have a couple of (naive) questions -
  1. Is there a unique numbering scheme for postings?  e.g. is my
     net.kids posting number 218, the same as somebody elses?
  2. Are the postings archived anywhere?  Furthermore, are back-
     orders on postings index numbers, subjects, or keywords
     possible?
  3. What is the the best reference(s) on net history, and the
     net software?  (including posting, transmitting, reading etc.)
