For those of you who dont want to clutter usenet and add to the traffic
problems, this is a list of the bbs systems that specialize in genealogy.
 ROOTS-BBS (415)-584-0697 San Francisco, CA
 COMMSOFT (415)-967-6730 software vendor
 DYNASTY (916)-685-8690 Sacramento, CA
SOQUEL (408)-462-6329 Santa Cruz, CA (just getting off the ground)
GENEALOGY ON LINE (919)-365-3824 North Carolina
OUTERCHAOS5 (801)-521-5966 Salt Lake City, small section on geneal.
 GENEALOG (614)-408-4736 Columbus, OH
 QUINSEPT (617)-641-1080 software vendor
PHANTOM (408)-659-3078 Monterey, CA (not always online)
-unnamed- (603)-964-7912 Rye, NH (will being operations June 1st).
An interesting development is the discussions going on among the sysops of
these systems about all of them adopting the FIDO software which would allow
them to use the FIDOnet to exchange messages and files. And incidentally,
the FIDOnet is rumored to have a gateway to USENET! If any of you know
of other genealogy bbs please let me know. Thanks.
