I recently resurrected a little tool written under v6 unix and brought it to v7; called scc (show current condition), it prints on the screen a display like this: | Sleeping | |Pri < 0|Pri > 0|Runable| | Swaps | Inodes | Files | | In|Out| In|Out| In|Out|Dead|Free| In|Out|Free|Used|Free|Used| | 3| 0| 41| 25| 3| 0| 1| 177| 1| 0| 282| 118| 256| 94| and updates it every second. It's a lot faster than ps, and I found it very useful in setting system table sizes. If anyone would like the code, it is small enough to mail; just drop me a line. Chris Kent
