How to set my modem in auto-answer modem on Sunsparc IPC

I am trying to set-up my sun sparcstation in auto-answer mode, when connected to
a hayes-compatible 1200 baud modem.
I have connected the modem to the ttya port. I would appreciate if someone who
has done this before can provide me some lead.
Is there any software that helps you do this ?
Also, I am wondering which files need to be changed ie /etc/remote, /etc/ttytab
or any other files. What contents should I put in the file, so that when any remote
client tries to login, he gets a login prompt with some header.

Thanks

To those accustomed to the precise, structured methods of conventional
system development, exploratory development techniques may seem messy,
inelegant, and unsatisfying. But it's a question of congruence:
precision and flexibility may be just as disfunctional in novel,
uncertain situations as sloppiness and vacillation are in familiar,
well-defined ones. Those who admire the massive, rigid bone structures
of dinosaurs should remember that jellyfish still enjoy their very
secure ecological niche.
