I hate to mention this , because I know someone is going to complain.However,
I know I have a dead on solution for alot of the problems, excluding the
dynamic reconfiguration of incoming newsfeeds.

Our service retransmits a full feed via satellite. We have been uplinking
news for over 7 months now without a day of downtime. We're now transmitting
approximately 50 megabytes per 24 hours, and it's sent out as soon as we get
it. The source is about 8 full nntp feeds of every newsgroup in the world.

Our beta ms windows software filters on the fly, so a pc can collect whatever
newsgroup the individual user desires and discard the rest. Sort of a flexible
mask if you will. 

Our unix software fits seamlessly into B News, C news, and execs rnews on the
incoming batch.

Now Pagesat is feeding 56 simultaneous feeds, 24 hours a day 7 days a week
via GE's K2 satellite. 

When we release the Windows 3.1 software , you'll no longer need a Unix system
and countless hours of administration to be on the net. The price of admission
has dropped.
