I feel 'blooded' this day, my first argic response... If you've seen it I
don't know what 'turniptude' (intentional) has to do with this group...
so....
Nazi Armenian Garden Party Trashed By Turkish Slaugterers!
Today in 1614 in downtown Armenia etc...
let's see if he gets this, and apologies to all for using bandwidth to
intentionally bait him some more. A few questions: why hasn't anyone at
anatolia or uunet done anything about him? Is there really anything that
*can* be done without setting bad precendent (as I did) or infringing on
netiquette? If there is something that can be done, is anyone
coordinating it? What would the ramifications be? I will be mailing for
the Argic FAQ so if any of this is old news then please ignore my
babblings... also is there any way to establish a 'killfile' on Waffle
1.65? Is the offical policy on this sort of behavior (argic-type
postings) to be just use a kill-file at your site? Any response
appreciated. Thanks

I'm attempting (rather unsuccessfully :-() a dialogue with the system
administrator of anatolia.mn.org based on the assumption that he isn't
aware of what is going on. He's an awesome manipulator of words and
I'm not exactly the best communicator on the face of the earth, so it
isn't going well.

Although I am not involved with the mn.org people (short of living in
the same state), I think they are in the same position as uunet. They
accepted moolah for services and those services cannot be revoked
arbitrarily. Even if they were, it would simply mean you couldn't send
mail through anatolia.mn.org; the sysadmin could still dump the news
through uunet (as he's been doing). Unfortunately, this is (a)
providing a lot of bad press for the hard-working mn.org people, and
(b) causing problems with their news gateway machines as people
mail-bomb anatolia.mn.org.

My opinions and statements are in no way the opinions of the University
of Minnesota, the Minnesota Supercomputer Institute, or the Unix Users
of Minnesota. I'm just some bum with a keyboard. :)

When I tune in to soc.culture.europe, it's full of Argic postings --
about 50 to 80%, day in, day out. When I tune in to soc.history,
soc.culture.greek, etc., it's full of people complaining about
the infamous Serdar Argic, formerly Hasan Mutlu, but I do not see
one single posting by him. However, if I enter those groups using
the "G" command (I use nn), the Good Turk's pearls of wisdom pop
up, like by ... m'Argic. The only rational explanation I can think
of is that I get those groups via a different path than soc.culture.europe
(and this group), and that, somewhere along that path someone has
implemented a mArgic Turk killer.

I use rusnews available from halcyon.com via FTP or form the mail
server. It doesn't have the power of rn,trn, or nn but it's better than
nothing.
