Any site that has a local newsgroup named "general" will sometimes find posts from other sites there. The posts from other sites are normally cross-posted to general and to a more widely-distributed group. (In fact, if you check general on your site, you may find some confused messages from people wondering where the messages from other sites came from, and some other messages dealing with the U.S. presidential election.) The only reliable solution to this is to use a name other than "general" for your local general newsgroup. If the name of your site is enver, then it would seem reasonable to call your local general newsgroup enver.general. That way, you won't get messages from othe sites there, and if your users accidentally cross-post something to your local newsgroup and to a widely-distributed one, it won't end up in someone else's general newsgroup. (I chose enver as a ficticious site name because as far as I know nobody is using that name.)
