This convention exists in part because people post parts of mail
messages out of context, or have altered text and there is no
way of authenticating the text as original.

In the case of John De Armond, he has been posting mail that he
received without permission throughout this tiff. Posting his
mail is simply equal treatment. Much of the mail he has sent
people has been either vile and mean-spirited, or particularly
insightful in a warped sense. In newsgroups where hate-mail is
much more common (such as soc.women or soc.men), this "outing"
of hate mail senders is openly sanctioned (or at least it was
the last time I hung out in some of those groups).

Since John De Armond has taken to threatening people with their
jobs, it is only appropriate that we post his mail so that other
people can see what an unbalanced monster he is.
