We're using B News 2.11.

Earlier this year, I un-subscribed our site from a number of newsgroups in an
effort to trim our UUNET bill. However, I just peeked at our log file this
morning and it says:

[... massive amounts of stuff deleted...]

Oct 12 08:26	uunet	Newsgroups in active, but not sys
Oct 12 08:26	uunet	received <1992Oct06.004707.9101@sco.com> ng rec.music.reviews,rec.music.industrial,rec.music.misc subj 'Review: Nine Inch Nails - Broken' from awrc@dcs.ed.ac.uk (Al Crawford)
Oct 12 08:26	uunet	Newsgroups in active, but not sys

[... massive amounts of stuff deleted...]

Actions I've done to unsubscribe:
- inserted an "!" in front of the newsgroup I wish to unsubscribe in "sys"
- deleted directories of groups we don't subscribe to any more from
/usr/spool/news - there are nothing in those directories.
- done nothing with the "active" file

What does the log message mean? Are we still recieving articles from these
groups? Have I completely/correctly unsubscribe from these groups? The Nutshell
book "Managing UUCP and Usenet" offers no further suggestions.

What gives?? Please respond by Email and I'll post if others are having the same
problem.
